I figured out that my reason is stress and my mind is always racing.

That's got a lot to do with my problem too but has anything the guys here have suggested helped you?

I think the problem with my schedule is that if I were to take anything that worked at getting me to sleep at this point I wouldn't get everything done that I need to get done...

The valerian root helped for a bit, but the main thing that helped was Tylenol PM. Knocked me right out. Last night i didn't take anything and I was up at 430 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep.

Yeah - I've used that but it got to a point I was worried I was overusing it so I quit - I think I would rather not sleep than have to rely on something even though I haven't always thought that way

I am the same way. I was taking some Ambien for awhile, but I felt like I became too dependent on it.

I actually take a Benadryl right before bed a few nights a week now. It really helps. It just makes you drowsy so your mind doesn't race as much. I've also heard melatonin works as well.

Timma, How did you get on mate, I've got shit at work at the mo so not sleeping well, after reading this I've cut straight to the melatonin, ordered some on line today.

Did have some Tylenol pm from my Vegas trip but thats all gone now lol!

Somatomax really helps me. I don't tak it every night but if I go a couple days without a lot of sleep I'll take it an hour before bedtime. It doesn't knock me out or really make me feel tired but it helps me stay asleep once I fall asleep. That's what I struggle with.

Well it helped for a little bit, but for some reason my body easily becomes accustomed to stuff like that. So I started using the tylenol PM but had to cut that out because I was too groggy in the am. So i'm just learning to deal with it now. It's not as bad as it was but there are still times I can't sleep.

There is a semi new melatonin out that is timed release. Takes about 30-45 minutes to start working versus about 20 minutes for the old stuff. It has worked wonders for me and usually (not always) keeps me asleep for at least 6 and sometimes more hours. 2, 5mg tabs is my usual dose.
