I hear ya bro - just warning you that the alcohol will help you store your cheat meal as fat more than sugar would...Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postthis is my cheat meal tomorrow. haven't had any alcohol since last year in Bermuda. cutting out the sugar is just my way of making the cheat meal a little less likely to be stored as fat.
Carbs only carry 4 calories per gram while alcohol has 7 (second only to fats) and is metabolized in the body almost the same way simple sugars are....

alcohol doesn't have an effect on insulin though so i might have to disagree with you on it being more likely to help to store fat.Originally posted by fog_hat1981 View PostI hear ya bro - just warning you that the alcohol will help you store your cheat meal as fat more than sugar would...

and lets not forget that you are drinking much less alcohol calories when you are drinking something like rum (1oz= 64 cals) compared to say the sugar in a can of pepsi = 150 cals. so not only will you take in more calories but you will have an insulin response with sugar.
aka, your argument is flawed. :P
