Christmas, hands down. Things were rough growing up, but somehow, my folks always managed to make christmas great for us, their kids. I can remember the sense of reverance I had while sitting on the floor in front of the tree alone at night, just watching the lights change colors.

To this day I still feel an echo of that whenever it's the Christmas season and I walk past a lot of X-mas trees out in front of a grocery store or see the lights on top of office buildings at night. Just a sense of wellbeing.

Memorial Day... because I like what was established for, it isn't based on religion, and it is celebrated at a lower level than the 4th of July. I usually fly home to PA about that time of year so I get to see my family. We typically have a big cookout, invite all the friends and family, then spend the day eating, drinking, playing volleyball or horshoes. And then at night, listening to drunk relatives tell war stories by the fire. There is something about the holiday and the alcohol that gets the Vets in my family all emotional and verbal.
