yea, that does happen. peoples friends, family, etc.. bid on an item to sell it for more. you are generally good to go if the seller has tons of positive feedback.
i know a guy who put all the shit he was selling on his webpage he created (linked to ebay). it had a stat counter that only he could see. the stat counter would alert him to when someone is viewing it a lot. once he saw lots of traffic (especially from the same person) he would start bidding on his own shit (through a relative or someshit) and create a bidding war. so basically ppl would pay top dollar for his items and think there bidding against other ppl when it was the owner. i bet there are a lot of scams out there lol

I know, but all your posts are a bunch of shit talking lately with little to now substance. It's just hard to take your posts for anything more than flaming these days.
