I have a math challenge for everyone out there. We are moving out of our apartment into a house that we are renting. We are getting a great deal on the house and it is sitting on a few acres. Problem is, it is about 15 miles further from where we work. Depending on which GNC they have me working at, I may be driving 50 miles round trip to go to gym/work. (I'll go to both while I am out.)
Here is my question. I'm thinking about purchasing a motorized scooter or something to go along with my car. Assuming the scooter gets 80mpg, and my car gets 24mpg. (Also remember I put mid grade in my car, and would put regular in the scooter. So thats 10 cents more) How long would it take to break even assuming I spend 1K on the scooter?
(Also remember I will save extra money in the long run when I sell my car a few years from now, as it will not depreciate as much due to lower miles. No need to factor that in, just another advantage.)
