  • Gas prices skyrocketing here...

So I spent all morning moving furniture from our apartment to the new house. We are in my father in law's truck on the way back, and some dude on the radio comes on and says gas prices have jumped $1.30 in the last two hours, its now up to almost $5 a gallon. I'm like What the Fuck???!?!? My girl was like "yeah, I filled up yesterday because a lady that I worked with told me gas was going to jump. its because Ike has shut down this and this and ..... etc. etc." Meanwhile I have 1/4 tank in my car. Thanks for letting me in on the little secret you dumb bitch!!! :D

Hows gas where you guys are???

There was a station selling gas for 1.99 a gallon yesterday. There was also a line longer than the eye could see to get it.

I haven't noticed it jumping here in Maine, but I have heard reports of it jumping in Michigan. How does Ike cause a jump in the price of gas in MICHIGAN! What a load. I don't ever remember the price of gas spiking every time there was a hurricane or unrest in the middle east. This is getting ridiculous. We went to war with England because of taxation without representation. We didn't like having to pay taxes without being afforded the benefits of taxpayers. How is this different in substance? We're getting raped by companies that aren't really pouring much of that money back into helping discover cheaper sources of fuel. At a time when our economy is reeling and the value of the US dollar is plumetting, ExxonMobile alone is making $10BILLION in PROFIT in one single quarter. That's almost as much as Wal-Mart makes in an entire year. What are we going to do about it?

I am wathcing CNN and gas prices in the south are jumping $.40 to $.60 cents in the 20-30 minutes people are waiting in line before getting to the pumps.

It's American business to take advantage of people as much as possible. Isn't this country great.
