  • Honestly-what do you think the next presidential candidate is REALLY going to do?

I always wonder at peoples perception on what governments purpose is. I think its morphed into them taking care of us. People talk shit all the time how they are unhappy but then continually stick their hand out for more. Now I am first to say that if you can "get" from the govt you shouldn't feel bad about it since there is no way to ever compute the money they have fucked us over the last 200 years. they owe us our own money. BUT those same people need to be ready to say "no thanks" when the time comes to repeal handouts, welfare, medical care, social security, and all the other wastes and safety nets our govt has implemented to keep us controlled.

so tell me what you think the new president will do? I will tell you straight out that I don't vote and to me its the only way for a clear conscience. I think its funny when people say you can't have a say if you don't vote. So if it was between the devil and the anti-christ and I chose no side I would be faulted? just because the anti-christ offered a land a few degrees cooler? but they are still both evil so I still must choose the lesser of two evils? I don't think so. the only winner in compromise between good and evil is evil. Good has nothing to gain from evil. If any of this sounds familiar to people I am gleaning it from Objectivism. I would love for people to read books offered by the Austrian economic movement who has pretty much predicted the American situation we are in about 10 years ago. but no one wants to listen because it would mean self sufficiency for some of us and less safety nets below us.

I know I am rambling on but I still want to know WHAT govt can do for us? The only thing govt has the ability to do really is RESTRICT us. Right? has a govt program ever accomplished anything? has a govt program ever been repealed? do we think $$ is the answer still?

that is certainley a relevant aspect of the process. its sometimes good to have opposite parties in office so nothing can GET done. the status quo is better than change IMO. unless that change is regulation, tax cuts and less govt all around.

i am assuming you are saying it was changed for the worse right? and that was my point is that govt only has one direction it can take when it is "pro-active" and that is more controlling. The right people in office means that they burn the rule books, throw out the benefit programs and let us be what we were intended to be. I don't see those people yet.

I would want future government to give the rights back to the State's. All 50 state's get fucked by the Feds. State's Rights was a huge deal to the founders of this country, they wanted to make sure that the Federal Govt wouldn't get involved in everything the state did, we have totally lost that. The overspending of the Fed is crazy, a 15 year old could manage finances better. The Fed Govt spends ridiculous amounts of money, and a lot of it is wasted. I see so much money every day wasted by our government, our tax dollars going down the drain. It takes a toll on you to witness this first hand. I am so sick of the bullshit political games, the great leaders we once had are gone, and I don't know if we will ever witness a great President again, well not in my lifetime.

According to the conservative base, if Obama is elected, you can expect while coke fuled orgies to be thrown at the White House, with drugs and bitches for all.

According to the liberal base, if McCain is elected, he will attack every country that pissed him off because he is still a little ticked about be an abused prisoner for a few years.

That is why I dislike the two party system, there is no true moderate voice

The republican party started out as a third party and was established to abolish slavery and the first presidential election won by the party was when Lincoln was elected. How far we have come.

"Government is not the solution government is the problem" Reagan

I'm sure this is going to sound a little off but I am just speaking my feelings in general feelings. If your not in the electoral college it's pointless to focus on the presidential vote, we should focus on our congress people that are up for election. Our vote really counts there and they are the people who will really make the changes anyone would like to see.

I agree that the congress is where the real power and the real trouble is. But everybody keep reelecting there own representatives and senators and think everybody elses is the problem. I have to tell you there are no good senators and maybe 50 good representatives in all of congress. The American people need to wake up and do what needs to be done. And what makes matters worse is 90% of them are lawyers.
