Marina Del Rey is a nice place to live but really expensive. I don't live to far from there. L.A. has its good and bad like any big city. Lots of traffic, lots of people etc. Don't count on public tranportation like you can back east.

You will hear a lot of people here (many from back east) talking about how they hate L.A. and love New York etc. And I always asked why are you still here why don't you move back home, never get a real answer from them.

I think the biggest thing is that to be in a decent neigborhood it is very expensive. There is no big down town where everyone hangs out, there are many smaller neighborhoods. Don't count on a downtown like New York, Chicago etc.

Born and raised here, lived a few other places but always end back here. Plus the last few weeks the temp was in the 80 can't beat that for winter time.

i think i am so used to jersey/nyc that it makes it hard to live anywhere else. cant match the attitude/sarcasm but at the same time true friends that jersey has. i am so used to the realness of jersey that i feel other places are fake.

I totally understand your point but there are real people all over the world. I moved from turkey to here all by myself and I had no friends or family here but now I can't see myself live any place else my friends became my family and they have saved my ass from trouble many times.:D
