I simply like to talk things out because...as stated it's been a very succesful method for me to come to a decision.
:rofl: Now that shit is funny.

Back on topic: Just drop the guy and look for a trainer or partner.

        Best advise here!
you are young chris take what you have learned and just go expermint with what works for you. If you have not learned the correct form yet you never will it shouldnt take years for any basic movment. Thats all you need is the basics.
You are paying him to keep you in the gym I see that all the time. all you need is a partner that is willing to give the effort you are.
I have a hard time working out by myself and ive been doing it for 16-17 years. get a partner it will be alot easyer.

I'm not worried about knowing the correct form, I understand that it's not rocket science. I'm worried I am swinging too much or notextending enough sometimes.

So you ARE worried about proper form. A good training partner will help you with that as well (provided they know what they're doing).

I know proper form, my fear is that I am not practicing it during workouts.

Bro like you said it's not a rocket science. You can't tell me by now you can't differentiate between good and bad from while you are training. I am sure you learned or he thought you the proper form during your sessions with your trainer.

You have to know me to understand. At any given time about four things are going through my mind. My trainer has helped me focus on the set, but as the workout get towards the end and I become fatigued I start to think less about form and push harder. At that time, I know I am not focusing my energy to keep the form, so my concern is that I am not doing it. It takes me a long time to become accustomed to movements. For example, when I first started training I walked with my shoulder rounded forward because when I was young I would constantly walk looking at the floor. A guy at the gym where I started commented on that, etc. I worked on it and eventually broke the habit, but it took an arguable 9 months, maybe longer. I had to get over the mental aspect of not wanting to look at the floor. If you haven't noticed that is my biggest deficiency with training.
