Can you explain why or is just an unexplainable feeling?

you remember when you were a kid if you were walking up the stares and it was night time, all the lights were out? that feeling of something behind you?

or when you were a kid taking a shower and you keep pulling back the curtain because you are sure something is standing on the other side?

          that kinda feeling x's 10.

          lol.

If you care to indulge me, I will continue this with some more why questions. I am curious to understand this feeling since I don't have it. While I do understand that explanation of what it feels like it doesn't explain the "why" it feels like that if you don't believe in ghosts.

100% serious here. go to one of those 1500 year old castles and spend the night by yourself in the dungeon. go to the old concentration camp buildings in germany out in the middle of nowhere where you know thousands of people were killed and spend the night alone.. go to the old creepy gettysburg fields where the fields were stained red and spend the night by yourself.

you dont have to believe in ghost to be creeped the fuck out. you dont have to believe in ghost to have the hair in the back of your neck stand up.

if you really dont know what i am talking about i challange you to go and do something like i suggested and tell me you werent creeped out.

As long as I know that some animal or bug (something physical) wouldn't get to me, I would have no problem with it. I have always done the stuff growing up that had some sort of belief that some spirit would be seen or attack you. Bloody Mary, Candyman, local stories...

well thats just lunacy. though im not sure i believe you could go spend the night alone in a pitch black dark dungeon and be totally calm and relaxed. not many people can. its the unknown, could there be some killer out there in the dark, what happens if i panic and cant see to get out etc..

its the "feel" of a place to me. i would never be scared sleeping on the beach all by myself. that would be calming. but sleeping in some creepy foggy field would not be calming for me.

question. are you also saying that certain places dont calm you? like are you just as calm in a Louisiana swamp as you would be on a beach in Bermuda?

I agree that certain areas do pose a higher level of natural threat. That could make me uncomfortable. The dungeon scenario, the killer thing could be potentially frighting. That's why I said if I knew something physical couldn't get to me, I would be fine. The idea that something previously happened there is not frighting. I would welcome seeing or feeling a "spirit". I do find certain situations calming. I love when it rains or snows. Within reason, the harder the better.

i know what you mean and i agree but i just wouldn't be able to totally relax in a house that someone had killed themselves in. its not that i would be scared of the ghost. its the misery that went on in that house..

you know how a place can almost feel "magical" sort of like the machu picchu ruins. http://www.kutztown.edu/activities/c...chu_Picchu.jpg i by no means believe in magic or any of that crap but you know what im saying. to me the house in question would be just the opposite of the magical feeling. it would feel wrong, feel "evil" i guess you could say.

shib, wouldnt you agree that walking around a concentration camp wouldn't feel right? i would love to do it in terms of the history and experience but the place to me would have a "feel" to me thats not exactly comfortable.

I've been to Alcatraz a couple times. I have walked around this old castle in Poland that is in ruins. I have been to the sixth floor museum in Dallas, walked on the grassy knoll. In Alcatraz and the sixth floor I found it interesting to learn about the history, seeing the places but to me it feels no different than if a replica was built and I went to that one to learn the history.

Another way I look at it is, you could go to the hall of records or something. Look up what has been on the land you live on before your place was built. Just about everywhere in our country has had some sort of death or bad event. Does that effect you living there?

answer the question without adding in your rubbish. :retard:

would walking around in a old concentration camp be as comfortable and calming as laying on your sofa and watching tv?

i am not asking if you would be scared at the concentration camp. and i also understand the history of the place and the experiance of being there, i would love to do that also. i am simply talking about its comfort level, knowing what had happened, knowing the tragedy that took place there etc...

same goes for your original question of "why".

because it would not be a place where i could relax and kick back. you dont have to believe in ghost to be un easy about a place because of its past.

I did answer your question and gave you examples for you to get a better understanding of how I see it.

If you want a direct answer to "Would my comfort level be different just because of it's past" the answer is no.
