doesn't have to be common. you said he was wrong for stating that a car with to many miles is more trouble then its worth and you are wrong. there is a point where no matter how delicate the miles... to many are to many..

Okay. If you really want to go there...specifically talking about the e36 M3, which I was...average mileage on them now is 100-150k. Given that, if you find someone who is serious about them...the will have preformed prevetative maint. Things such as VANOS, the BMW injection system will have been replaced, as well as general other coponenets, like the cooling system. Depending on when these items were replaced or the head rebored, etc. I'd can safely be stated that, yes, even after 900k mi, (an outlandish, nonrealistic number) the car would likely be better off than one that hasn't had preventative maint and is hitting it's 90-110k birthday.

            LOL at bouncer.

Chris man, we had a '93 acura legend on our family for 9 years. My parents gave it to me in the year 2005 and I sold it in 2009 at 151k

Believe me that I did all maintenance work and had it at car shows, it was clean.

Whenever I got work done on it, it would be fine for a month or two before another problem came up. With more and more money getting dishes out, it wasn't worth it. So I sold it and got a jetta.

After a certain point you have to dish out so much money just to get of to start it. Not worth it man, no matter how good of maintenance you have done

Ur probably too cheap, or too particular about miles to find one, if you haven't already. Those things are so freakin' cheap because of the 335, its not funny. A blanket statement like that isn't worth my time.

HAHA.... nope, not yet. i don't have the 1.8T, VR6, nor TDI motor. I have the straight Inline 4 cylinder 2.0 motor. bullet proof motor. shitty 115hp, but its w/e and does the job. gas mileage rocks, and since its a 5spd its pretty fun.

Seriously people, there is a market set price for these tinker toys and it is significantly below that. :wack: My Dad just sold his M5 about a year ago for 5k more than that. :wack:
Was it a '99 Estoril w/Dove interior, LTW rims, 55k miles?

lol, its not that bad. It starts to drink oil when it is about 800miles away from an oil change. So instead of changing my oil around 2800 miles, i just change it at 2200.

NJ **2004 SilverGray 6spd*** Clean-Great Price - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum

There Bouncer, he should come down to about 22.5k because it was in a minor accident and because it has that hideous dove interior. He is still a little high with his asking price when I look at those factors.
