Racism will never end, it's such a sad truth and to make children in this day and age be subjected to it like this boils my blood.

The truth of the matter isn't racism. The situation is that people feel most comfortable around people they perceive to be like themselves. It goes beyond skin color, but many people harp on that the most. My big brother from my frat is black, but he was a complete nerd. The color of his skin doesn't matter, I'm more comfortable around him than other brothers who are less like me and white.

On subject, I don't have a problem with this. If they want to discriminate, they can. It is a private club and they don't have to accept members they don't want. The point of certain clubs is exclusivity.

I agree that the club should be able to do what they want, but I do have a problem with people showing their kids (the white kids at the club) that this is acceptable behavior.

The question is, where do you stop? When do you say, "We can regulate this, but not that"? When is that fair?

Agreed, it harks back to the days we walked out of caves, we were tribal from the start and if we were all the same colour it wouldn't make any difference we would find something else. To an extent discrimination is healthy and normal, we all do it subconciousely and its there as a basic instinct.

On subject I remember when I was younger and would try get into some black clubs, sometimes get turned away, sometimes get let in and stared at with hatred by the guys all night, somehow it was fine for a black guy to date a white girl but they hated it the other way round lol!

Read again, they can do what they want with the club. But they are also teaching there is something wrong with the black kids simply because of their skin color. I never agree with the promotion of willful ignorance.

Bro it is always about race, if my best friend were blue it wouldn't matter to me but somebody would instantly ostracize him from his society based on his skin. How would you like a private clubs that likes to slaughter people in the pursuit of happiness. Again that is way out there, but the fact something is private doesn't make it right.

I'm done after this post. It is NOT about race, it is about what you perceive to be LIKE YOU. I can be friend with a gay guy that likes to lift and play sports, but I'm probably not comfortable around one that is flamboyant and acts like Perez Hilton. YES, people take an instant look at color of skin because it is the first thing you see. There will always be people who take skin color to judge what is like them and not.

On the subject of the club, I never said it was 'right' for the club to do that. I simply stated, that if that is what they choose to do, they have EVERY right to do it...

You just said skin color is the first thing you see, that's all I'm implying. Skin color starts the train of thought, after that it's a complex maze. I apologize for misquoting on the club, however, I do not believe that skin color would not hinder an applicant in this instance. This goes for any type of social club/gather to me, and in a lot of ways I agree with you, it is their right. But it's the fine print on the applications to this sort of a club that lets them really screen out color, just like renting appartments.
