Exactly the same thing. They are yanking your chain. They had a catcher squad at my boot camp graduation to catch and drag away all the guys who passed out happens quite often can be hard to stand at attention or parade rest for an hour or more.

What branch were you in? Coast Guard? Never heard of a "Catcher Squad" sounds like they expect people to be weak. We stood at parade rest one time for 4 hours during a inspection and not one Marine fell out. It was hard to move your legs afterwards I could barely walk, but nobody passed out.
