Sounds harsh but seriousely, I lost my office job (which I also hated at times) December last year and have been working nights since doing a security job, I can't complain but boy would I like my old job back.
Damn straight. These generation y's have no idea. They want everything right away without working for it. I was made redundant a few months ago also.

You have no Idea, I was making the same kind of money framing houses working 8 hours a day and as soon as it was quitting time I never thought about work till the next day, I would not even have to drive to work the boss would pick me up for work, buy me lunch, buy everyone beer after work. What I am saying is the company I am working for is trying to take advantage of me, and maybe you would just work like and ignorant slave, but I will not just sit there and get taken advantage of.

Most your office jobs are going to have these characteristics. It's inevitable since you have so many levels of departments and it all being about the bottom line.

Well, that is the problem. YOU are not using THEM. Use this company for all its worth and get what you need to out of it.

Well I might go get a jobas a night watchman, the pay is the same as the job I have currently and the hours are from 11 at night to 7 in the morning. I think I like those hours, have the whole day to get stuff done, be able to go to the gym at a reasonable time, and I will never see any of my friends so I will be 100% focused on training. A guy a know who had the job before he got promoted said he just looked on the internet the whole time and ate food, then every couple of hours cruised around the facility which took about 1hr at a time. I have to makea decision in a week and a half. Lets hear some feed back, anyone ever work 2nd shift?

First of all that's 3rd shift :). I worked it at a hotel. My biggest problem is that I have a lot of trouble getting good sleep during the day. So I was kind of like a zombie all week until I caught up on my sleep on the weekends. My training really suffered to. Sure I made it to the gym, but it was never great. I have known some people to work that shift and they seem to do fine, but NONE of them train.

I think it all depends on the person and lifestyle. Shibby, you had a family - so it probably wasn't the best schedule for you.

Just remember, boring isn't always good lol. I can't stand to be bored and 8 hours is a long time.

That is true and was another factor. But mostly it came down to I was misserable because I was always tired and it negativly impacted every part of my life. Its what ia had to do at the time so I did it, but I will never do it again if I can help it. Plus Madalena said she wouldn't allow me anyways :D

Oh and konitz, you are right that you will feel you have more time in a day. It is also really easy to end up spreading yourself to thin. So be careful of that.
