WTF? I would take the V-10 R8 over any BMW. Like the post said he should of just got a M6 same price.

You're crazy. What makes you say that, other than you obvious animosity towards them? Top Gear has reviewed multiple BMW and Audis sibe-by-side and they always put the BMW (especially M division) on top, regardless of if Clarkson is driving them (who hates them). Not to mention, they still have not found another competitor, in its class, that they like more than the e92/e90 M3. The RS4 wasn't as good round the track. Not to mention, all the other companies have always played catch up to BMW's M division. Words straight from Clarcksons mouth during the Lexus ISR v. M3 test.

As far as the R8, its nice to know you have unlimited resources to pull from when you can reach out and go to Lambo/Buggati to design the car and subsidize it with VW bank. Its funny, that even after all that, the R8 is simply an answer to BMW's M6 (a V10 that has been placed into actual F1 cars and kit cars). The R8 is designed to be a mini-super car and the M6 is a luxury coupe. A luxury coupe that takes .3 of a second more to do what the mini super car does (the almighty 0-60), top end is better oddly enough. Not to mention the late release of the V10 R8 because it likes to catch fire. Not to mention the V10 isn't Audis creation, its Lambo's.

And before some ass weilding hate monger decidedes to call me a fan boy and all that bullshit, I want you to pull your head out of your ass and listen. I'm not saying the current R8 isn't a great car, or that I don't believe its as good, if not better, than the M6. However I'm not going to listen to you to sit there and critique a brand that has and does, by all means, set the bar for luxury vehicles you can throw around a track. Not, no way, and never. It shows a lot that you think you know so much about the sport, but haven't even spoken about things you have involved yourself in. Driving events, performance mods, etc.

I think you need to stop being a hater and look at the cars judgmentally. And just to make a point, the Cayman S has been rated as a better car than the 370Z.

2009 Motor Trend Best Driver's Car - Best driver's car competition - Motor Trend

And here, they did not test the e92 M3 for some reason. Instead they chose to test the 135i(?), pricing didn't seem to matter. Why would you test a 1 series instead of the best car BMW makes? Who knows.

BMW quality has taken a dump especially in the last year. just search for "2009 BMW recalls" and have a look for yourself.

and be honest chris, they need an update on the looks of the line. the M3 used to be a bad ass looking car... now its just ehh.

as far as that link that you posted goes, they have a mazda miata in 3rd and a ZR1 in 6th. LMFAO. get the fuck out with that link. did the BMW even place?

and that link you posted even says the 370z got a lower score because of their new gay rules based on average drivers.

"Unfortunately for Nissan, the 370z really epitomizes the evolution of our contest from Best-Handling Car to Best Driver's Car. Had it participated in last year's event, which concentrated entirely on handling dynamics, it undoubtedly would have finished in the top half of the field, what with its aggressive, track-happy setup."

A kid at my gym has a nice 370, black with black rims, brembo brakes, had some suspension work to. He did it classy, a clean looking car.

R35 skyline - even for a tanker it tracks well and pulls on cars 200k richer.

They said, top half. Not first. The point of posting that link was not to say the 370Z is shitty, but you can't see past the choice in vehicle you have made. That is the definition of a fan boy. The problem with car reviewing is that there are many different people in the world and many criteria. Seating position, for example. That is the other reason for the post I made. Have you driven a MX-5? How fast you get somewhere is only one portion of a larger puzzle. The e30 M3 was much slower than any production car today, yet somehow it is still more fun to drive round a track. Why? It is a go kart. Overall driving experience, especially considering you aren't competing, is what you should be looking for. I don't think you will push the Z around a track as a track instructor would.

                              As for the first half:

Which M3 had the best styling? Styling is a personal opinion and in mine the e90 is beautiful, as for build quality...about the only time BMW hasn't had significant recalls was before computer design, so the only M3 that you can talk about is the e30. Also, we aren't talking about issues that are resolved via recall, we car talking overall driving ability of a car. If we were talking about recalls, all you have to do is google recall audi and see how terrible they are. Merc is the best in the German breed, nix the early ML that killed their reliability rating.

And if you are refering to the e46 M3 as reliable...you have another thing coming. Again, I loved my M3's, but so many common issues. SUB FRAME FAILURE!?!?! Transmission failure, and then there is the piston failures in the earlier models. This is not to deter anyone interested in the car, they have a very temperamental balance due to how well they drive.

I just think you need to take a step back and realize that you are half talking out of your ass. I would honestly like to see you toy with your own car before you talk about build quality and how a 'badge' is dying due to your lack of enthusiasm over design.
