So they bent the rules to get information from people they thought were holding out. But given what was at stake can you blame them?
I'm not saying that its ok to waterboard etc but if it was a case of a terrorist that knew of future attacks that would kill many people or he had information that would help stop future attacks or catch others that have comitted then sorry but that information needs to be got in a war against terror.
Clearly what then happens retrospectively is the senior bods claim they knew nothing about it, and it stops there, it called turning a blind eye.
As for the administration getting into deep investigations of the CIA's undertakings, it just seems stupid, your making the hamstrung by principles that enemies would willingly undercut to get what they want and making your own investigative powers frightened to get vital information that would threaten the security of the population.
