P.S. if a car lost 50 hp it would be close to blown up, and actually most engines will gain horsepower up to certain amount of hours run as the engine loosens up.

You will not gain hp after 8 yrs. Those that say you will not lose hp after years of slamming the pedal are :wack:Originally posted by Konitz View PostP.S. if a car lost 50 hp it would be close to blown up, and actually most engines will gain horsepower up to certain amount of hours run as the engine loosens up.

no matter how well you take care of an engine the wear and tear eventually get to it after the years. this dosent just go for an american car. talk to anyone with a Ferrari from teh 90's early 00's. they just simply arent the car they used to be. this is just how it goes. i cant believe you people are arguing this fact.

the simple act of driving the car brakes it down over the years. taking good care of it will prolong its life but it still is subject to heat and friction.Originally posted by wnabeabeast View PostI am sure it can. Have you ever met a Corvette owner? They baby their cars like there is no tomorrow.

you people keep talking about break in period. yes you car will go faster 6 months after you own it then it did the first day you got it.Originally posted by Konitz View PostP.S. if a car lost 50 hp it would be close to blown up, and actually most engines will gain horsepower up to certain amount of hours run as the engine loosens up.

thats not what we are talking about. we are talking about 8 almost 9 years of wear.

Bah, friction? Not even a factor. Oil blow by from worn seals and rings, nah....doesn't happen. The rings and seals get better with age. :hibb:Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postthe simple act of driving the car brakes it down over the years. taking good care of it will prolong its life but it still is subject to heat and friction.

I understand that a car that is maintained doesn't lose 100hp or anything of the sort, but the simple fact remains as you said; heat and friction wear down moving parts. You will lose compression regardless. OTher moving parts not even engine related wear and break as well. It's the nature of the beast. Break in is usually the first few thousand miles not the first decade.

Agreed new Porsches are known for burning quart of oil every couple of months and they still put out all the HP.Originally posted by blm View PostBah, friction? Not even a factor. Oil blow by from worn seals and rings, nah....doesn't happen. The rings and seals get better with age. :hibb:
If you wanna find out if your engine lost power or not just go to any mechanic shop let them test the compression of the engine if it still pulls out the factory numbers it means you haver lost any power.

First I don't give a shit who he was agreeing with second read my post again I said porsches are known for burning a quart of oil every couple of months and still put out all that HP and if you want to see if your car puts out all the horses you get a compression test if it has the full compression ratios in every cylinder I don't give shit if the fucker is 100 years old it still has full powerOriginally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postjust a hint... he was agreeing with me dumbass. read the sarcasm..
