Why would you guys buy a supercar like those used? People will dogg them and abuse the shit out of it. I rather have one of those BRAND NEW! (Only if i had the money)
Anyway, my little jetta can do 60mph at turns on the ramps :D

cant afford a $110,000 car new so i will take it 2-3 years old at like $65-70k with a trade in should be able to get it down to like 45k.

Wrong, people that purchase those cars cannot beat them, they are purpose built to take that kind of abuse. Basically, the only way they abuse those cars is if they do not change the oil or hit potholes and shit.Originally posted by dna9488 View PostWhy would you guys buy a supercar like those used? Yes that is true. However, how lucky can you be to get a used super car that was driven by a 70 year old man a few times?Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postnot always. lot of times you got an old guy that only stepped on it on the highway. nothing more.

I am very cautious about that type of stuff. Now, if you can get one hell of a warranty with that super car, than by all means go for it.

That is true on a level, but I personally would feel cautious about buying one.Originally posted by Konitz View PostWrong, people that purchase those cars cannot beat them, they are purpose built to take that kind of abuse. Unless the warranty on that is outstanding.

When I buy a used vehicle I give the thing a serious inspection, I jack it up and check everything. There are simple things you can look at to see what kind of shape the car is in.Originally posted by dna9488 View PostYes that is true. Haha this thread has been pretty laughable. Believe it or not, my computer crashed the day after I started this thread.
Bouncer, calling the Z06 a POS is a pretty ignorant comment bro. The suspension upgrades from the traditional C5 to the Z06 were extremely significant. Find the twistiest track and get an unbiased driver to do time attacks on both, the Z06 would win everything short of an autocross. (In that case lets bring out a Miata with suspension upgrades and watch it beat both)
Lets look at the numbers. And lets use the same source, Road and Track
2001 Z06
~3100 lb curb weight
Skid pad = 1G (Viper territory)
2009 370Z Nismo
~3300 lb curb weight
Skid pad = .93G
(The regular 370Z came in at a better rating than the Nismo. Something like .96 or .97)
The point is, the only thing the 370 beats the Z06 in is interior quality, and the fact that it is newer. I would be more than happy to dyno the car when I get the chance. And a well maintained engine will not lose even 10WHP barring an actual problem, much less 50.

my whole point was a 9 year old Z06 will not perform like a 6 month old Z06.
