Not sure if you all saw this yet, but there was video surveillance from a 7-11 early yesterday morning. The major is dressed in standard Muslim attire- white pants, robe & head cap. CNN interviewed the store owner. He said the guy was totally normal & relaxed yesterday- no cause for concern. Even asked if the store owner was going to Friday prayer. In fact, the major & store owner would chat daily. Probably the most interesting- the store owner said about a week ago the major had voiced some concern about being deployed and having to go fight possible Muslims. So, the guy acted alone, but somethinG still doesn't sit right with me. I mean, why is this guy in Muslim garb when he's supposed to be on his way to base?? There's way more to it. I can't believe the army had first said he was dead- it wasn't the media that got it wrong- it was the army who released this info!!!!

as for the second part. na, nothing more to it IMO. the base is the biggest in the world. you have a nightmare going on. a million things happening. its easy for detales to get all messed up.

"Allahu akbar" means "God is great" in Arabic...

So, if that's what this guy stood up & shouted, then this sounds like terrorism plain and simple. But, then his family recently commented that Hasan was trying to get out of the military, but had been unsuccessful. If that's the case, then why not just go AWOL? Go to Canada or something...I don't care what his family says- this guy sounds like an Islamic extremist to me. Has Al-Queda gotten on Al-Jazeerah or anything praising this guy?

Really? Wow. So, I guess they are pretty much treating it as a terrorist act then...Unfortunately terrorism seems to take the shape that racial profiling has. Doesn't make it right, I just don't think there is a right way to go about investigating without offending some. That's just the nature of the beast....
