yup. black friday at best buy was the same. they had the tvs for black friday on the floor already a month in advance priced sky high. then when black friday came, the sale prices were up for that few couple hours. whatever wasn't sold in that particular timeframe was lowered back to normal price (more like a sale price when compared to normal retail). the electronics most stores get are bought dirt cheap and if the stores don't sell them before xmas (or a different date) then they are obligated to return them, thus losing any chances of making money.

right, but what i was saying is that big companies make more money in this holiday season because manufacturers are selling their items cheap. if the items aren't sold during this season, when they go back to buy the same product during the regular off-holiday season, they would have to pay more for the same product.

Two years ago, I went early (early for me in those days, was out the door at 8am...now I could have that beat by at least an hour) and got a Kitchen Aid standing mixer for like $160. It was the last one! TOTALLY worth every penny- don't know how I survived without it before.

My mom has wanted one of those for years. Amazon had them for $175 a couple weeks ago.

and my aunt goes to Macy's every year. when they open at 6am, they give out $100 gift cards. if you play your cards right, you can get a few of them if you know what entrances to go to.

as far as i know, yes. my aunt usually goes to Macy's because of this and a few other early sales they have. sometimes they have some really good kitchen appliances for sale. she got a really nice baking set for dirt cheap but they only had 10 of them and once got a whole set of luggage for really cheap too.

but i don't know if it varies from Macy's to Macy's.
