you can expect anything from 5 to 10hp gain from a cold air intake but what makes the biggest difference is the way engine responds to your throttle inputs and you can gain another 10 to 15 with a new exhaust.

Yeah what WB said on the HP.

What the cold air intake does is it replaces the air filter housing you have. It's an open air system that houses the filter and moves it away from the heat of the engine. So the main air that goes in is outside cooler air.
