AOW, what is the simplest of cells to you? I'm not sure what you were trying to say, so I'm asking.

Just to give you perspective of how life can be created on earth and not already be here I will give you a very brief theory.

All living matter comes from a dna structure. How did that DNA get here you probably are asking. Well DNA is formed from RNA. RNA has been found on asteroids. So regardless of there being a creator or not, life on earth didn't have to just have been placed here the way we see it now.

I'll have to think on that homey, I honestly need to research it more. Pretty damn solid from the outside - breaking down that sort of a concept though I really want to be able to grasp it like you put it, and then see the science of it, whether book or what have you.

Any good reads on this ? You obviously have formed an opinion - all ears.
honestly bro, it sounds sort of funny and people can make fun of me if they like, but i watch every single show on the science channel, discovery, etc.. all dealing with the universe and science etc..

i am a visual person, i need to see something and hear something to understand and learn from it, thats why shows like that are great, they make learning about a subject fun.

Right but what about the asteroids that have RNA found on them ? You see what I mean - I understand the mechanics of cells - down to the simplest of them which are what, prokaryote (sp) ? The universe may well just be to vast for an answer - but I am understanding where you guys get the earth's perspective from.

Ok, so you understand about how life on earth could have came from somewhere other than "poof it's there". I'm sure you realize that this is against what you were taught growing up. Now apply that analytical thinking beyond earth. Space is to vast to comprehend. There is a lot if scientific evidence that show other ways evrything came to be with a higher probability than faith. That's where the notion of religion seems silly. Even if you feel there isn't enough evidence to live as if there isn't a creator, it's ok to just live as you don't know and leave it at that. Removing faith from one's life doesn't mean you are left with a void. Just like when you found out Santa wasn't real you don't live as if your life as a void. It's just life and instead of there being a void to fill, there is now a world of knowledge available to you without boundries.

Personally, I am agnostic. I have no clue what to believe. All I'm saying is that if you are sick of hearing/talking about this, talk to your fellow religion-bashers that are continually creating the threads.
The thread with those titles might be, but the threads not about religion that turn to that discussion usually aren't started by non-believers.

Also to add, It's not about needing an answer to move on. As Grinder stated, he is agnostic. Which typically means he is either spiritual or lives his life as there is spiritual influence; but he is not bound with restrictions to exploring his life and life around him.

The main difference between and agnostic and I is that I'm a non-believer. I live my life as if there isn't any influence except for cause and effect.

Mind if I ask what turned you away from agnosticism ?

Never. I called myself agnostic for a long time. I realize now it was more of a transition until I learned more about myself. The reason I stated I was agnostic and not atheist then was because of love. You can love someone all you want, but you can't make them love you back. From there it went to a point where it was obvious that I can still have love without spirituality or living as if there is a higher power in effect. Now I am just a non-believer. I don't like the term atheist because it's an anomaly of a word. How can I be "a" of something that is not real. We don't claim ourselves to be afairyists or aleprechaunist. Plus atheist carries with it a claim of definitive knowledge of no higher power. I simply don't believe in theism and everything else is what it is.

That is the only explanation for all of this that honestly makes me consider everything I believe - that's so true bro - I appreciate you being cool about that.

I feel like you are dead on w/theism in general - I was turned off from any form of christianity at a very early age when I saw a lot of sheep who all talked like they were the shepherd.... it made me see transparency all around me with an ego too boot.

Gallop poll says 93% of americans believe in prayer. I guess the 7% athiests think they are praying to science LOL

Maybe you should pay more attention to the History Channel. Like Abraham Lincoln calling for a day of Fasting and Prayer that ended the civil war within a week. Or 14 days of prayer and fasting by the english christians that resulted in a brain hemorage in Joseph Stallon, after stallon vowed to continue killing jews after hitlers fall.

You love to throw claims and accusations around, but never include any evidence to back them up. But yes, my views are the ones that are weak :clapback:
