            Litigation. I want to be in front of a judge/jury, hopefully the appelate division.

            Almost every lawyer plans on heading into litigation, but few actually end up there. I will be one of those few. To be a trial attorney, you need that cocky, I cannot lose attitude all while being quick on your feet. I thrive under that type of pressure

              i'm sure you have that cocky attitude down. i know quite a few patent lawyers but i feel like their lives suck. private practice or government?

                  A science background is needed for patent law. That I do not have.

                  And definitely private practice. Coming out from a top 14 school and heading into private practice =$140,000 salary to start.

                      This is what happens in the idiosyncratic law school application process. I was rejected from UVA today despite being in the top 10% of their class for LSAT score and above their median for GPA. Granted, it is a state school and prefers its own residents, but still a surprise

                        for a school close to my area known for their law program, none of the kids that i know that went into law ever applied there. no big loss there.
