You would be right on 2 of them. But Tanner Foust (skinny white guy) is an amazing driver. Shame he is boring as fuck.

    Ok, the breakdown.

First Segment with the Viper VS the Helicopter:

Incredibly boring, edited and scripted. The hosts somehow managed to make a viper and a helicopter seem amazingly boring. Hosts had no chemistry at all in this segment. I would give this segment an F!

Second Segment (star in a reasonably priced car)

Buzz Aldren was the first guest. The segment was to short and it came across as disrespectful to Buzz. They asked him like 2 questions about rockets and space and then a few questions about cars. The question and answer lasted like 2 minutes at most and it felt rushed. I would give this segment an F!

    Third Segment: (Lambo Comparison)

This was the best part of the show. For the first time the guys didnt seem scripted and stiff and they actually looked like they were just having fun. I would give this segment a B.

    The hosts:

Tanner Foust, even though he is a great driver, is incredibly boring and just not funny. I would give his performance a D saved only by the last segment.

The Fat guy with the beard, again, just lame and boring. Not really interesting at all. I would give his performance and F. He is just lame.

The Italian guy, funny lines, insults etc.. seem to come more natural for him. I would give his performance a C.

Overall I was disappointed. I will continue to watch because simply put, it involves cars and that alone is better then most shit. You also have to remember that original top gear has had years to mature, when it first aired it was just as boring and the hosts did not click for awhile. James May wasn't brought on until season 2. Lets hope that Top Gear America continues to improve like the original did.

So what's the final word on the first episode? Is it worth looking it up on On Demand tonight?

Not sure what top gear has to do with history but I don't give a damn! Let's hope it can hold a candle to the British version.
historys first airing was on the vette and with the vette came the stang and with the stang came the trans am and with the trans am came the GTO .. and yes that was 1965, but before that there was the first real bad ass (1961 impala 409 @425.. 13.50 @107 on skinny tires..google that:)

Didn't some other over-hyped British car show make a US version?
