  • Renting a car/van

We are going to rent a vehicle for our trip to NY on Jan. 5th. 4 adults and 2 kids. There is a rental place right here in the suburb where I live. Are all the rates around the same at the different places or should you really shop around?

Just look online for the local prices

Due to capped mileage, it would cost around $450 for our trip. While brainstorming I came up with a scenario where I would take a megabus and they would drive in our car, we're looking at only $150. I'm thinking that's the best choice.

It's a bus trip on (from what I have heard) on a nice bus that I can just kick back and relax. I leave at 7am and arrive at 3pm. The only reason we were needing to rent a car is because we were 1 adult over capacity of our car. When I get to NY my parents will probably be at their studio anyways and I will have 4-5 hours to go around NY before the rest of my family gets in (Magda has an orientation from 12-1).

take the train and then rent a car asshole.

your going to make your wife from poland and her family drive into a world of chaos while you kick back on a bus.

you think driving around NYC is like driving around Pittsburgh? :lmao:

We've driven there before and we don't have to go through the city to get to Staten Island.Amtrak doesn't work and they didn't have more than 2 seats available on each bus time. Once we are there we don't need to rent a car. There is plenty of room for all of us between both my parents car :)

I am jealous those morons get paid (a few of them millions) to be drunk morons. I should have hung out at seaside the last 4 years rather than go to school
