We are going to rent a vehicle for our trip to NY on Jan. 5th. 4 adults and 2 kids. There is a rental place right here in the suburb where I live. Are all the rates around the same at the different places or should you really shop around?

really? that sounds like the worst fucken trip i ever heard of. lol.Originally posted by Shibby View PostWhile brainstorming I came up with a scenario where I would take a megabus and they would drive in our car, we're looking at only $150. I'm thinking that's the best choice.

It's a bus trip on (from what I have heard) on a nice bus that I can just kick back and relax. I leave at 7am and arrive at 3pm. The only reason we were needing to rent a car is because we were 1 adult over capacity of our car. When I get to NY my parents will probably be at their studio anyways and I will have 4-5 hours to go around NY before the rest of my family gets in (Magda has an orientation from 12-1).

We've driven there before and we don't have to go through the city to get to Staten Island.Amtrak doesn't work and they didn't have more than 2 seats available on each bus time. Once we are there we don't need to rent a car. There is plenty of room for all of us between both my parents car :)
