katrina death toll was i think around 1800 as of this mourning the feared dead was approx 1000 in japan. with out a reactor failure maybe it wont be as tragic ..lets keep our finger and toes crossed.

Half of Katrina's deaths were because of peoples stupidity.

Fukishima No 1 plant explosion, not a melt down, but there has now been a radiation leak, people being advised not to drink tap water. The pressure vessel is not thought to have exploded though which is what happened at chernobyl, what's happening is more like Americas 3mile island fuck up.

there was a scientist who has since past away made the predictions we are currently seeing everything he has predicted has happened so far ... he believed the earth is going to shift on its axis by 1 degree ..changing everything as we know it .. what we are seeing are just precursors to it ...

            time will tell

More than 9,500 people unaccounted for in Minamisanriku, Japan, Kyodo News Agency reports.

trust me, when this is all over with, katrina will not even be a comparison.

9,500 in just 1 area are missing.

Radiation leaks from a damaged Japanese nuclear reactor after an explosion blows the roof off, but the government insists that radiation levels are low as Japan deals with the effects of the 8.9-magnitude earthquake that sent a 10-metre tsunami ripping through towns and cities across the northeast coast

Regardless of death toll, the destruction and aftermath will make Katrina look like a bad storm.

This nuclear issue makes a strong argument for the people who don't want more nuclear facility's built. All of the things happening to the plant in japan right now were not supposed to be able to happen because of all the "sophisticated backup systems" and info learned from Chernobyl and 3 mile island. Well guess what.. its happening and the backup systems have failed..

An estimated 6.4-magnitude earthquake has just hit near the east coast of Honshu. The same area where the Nuclear site is.
