without knowing the details. its sounds to me like they view you as someone who gets his work done but thats about it. sort of like a C student in school. you arent horrible like a D-F student but the type of work you do is not A+ material.

Where I work is different than most places. For one they are quick to judge, and they all think differently how things should be done.

For example the one job even though alot of the things drawn were not our standard, you can't go against the designer. You can question it, but they want what they want. Well without talking to who designed it or talking to me, the project manager went straight to the top with what had been done. They immediately started blaming without talking to other people. I just found this out after my review. Communication is terrible around here and is something that needs to be fixed, which I told my main supervisor. He agrees. Will it happen probably not.

When I took on this project I got everything to around 75% myself before I could have the designer give me the details for what happened. He then changed things. Without going into too much detail this project was fucked from the beginning as far as time constraints and miscommunication between the designer and the surveyor.

Bottom line is finger pointing is big here, just like any other job. So even though i do what is supposed to be done, it gets changed and then there's me as the scapegoat when it's not right to others.

I spoke to another guy, one of the one's that apparently has an issue with my work. After speaking with him this whole thing is a huge witch burning. What it all comes down to is the same couple people have some beef with me that makes no sense. The main designer justified the work that I did and it would have been the same if he had done it. The complainers all bitched but never came to me to discuss the issue or find out what really took the job so long for me to complete. Everything could have been avoided and I would have had a better review if they had just come and talked to me about everything.

The other designer said he will sit in with me when I speak to our supervisor on Monday and go to bat for me. At this point I just need to try as hard as possible to find another job and be done with this place. Shady shit has been going on for too long lately and it's not just me they are keeping tabs on. The guy I spoke to said they keep note of all the people that talk all day too. And supposedly the maybe 20 texts I send out during work means I text all day long. Everyone is all worried about other peoples business and not their own. Someone actually suggested we try to get the company to start a manager review program since they love reviewing us and point out all we need to make better. The managers in our office suck.

Spoke to one of the associates on Friday and he told me just to ignore the one guy and start taking the initiative for conversations with my supervisor. He said the management style in our office sucks so we have to step up and take the lead to get anything good going. Gonna talk to my manager on Monday. There's too many managers and supervisors in this company. Too top heavy.
