No relationship is perfect. There are always things that are missing but you live with them. It you are not ready to make the commitment to a relationship or are willing to live with the tradeoffs in the relationship, then don't.

I stay out of relationships, inter alia, the reasons you mention above. But let me play devil's advocate.

If that works for you, go for it. People have open relationships although I have rarely seen them end well.
