Canceled Netflix and went with Amazon Prime

Using VUDU from the tv. No monthly/activation fees and movies available for streaming same day as dvd.

have used it on the PS3 a few times, PS3 has an app for it.

you are a bit misleading in your post though bro. VUDU is no different then directv, comcast, etc.. on demand pay per view. you simply pay $5-$7 dollars per new movie. you can do the same thing on amazon.

i like that you can get the X-High HD option with true Dolby HD Surround on vudu.

sometimes you get an HD movie from cable or sat and the sound is fucken pro logic. gtfo.

I have bright house/time warner and the selection and quality is shit. HD looks like a good dvd on a good tv. Fuckin lame. I tried to find a house in a Fios area but it didn't work out. I'm stuck with subpar internet and tv.

You mean your regular hd, not just your in demand hd? How come you didn't go with dish or direct?

On demand hd. Regular hd (depending on broadcaster) is pretty good. Its just hard to match the quality of fios hd and internet speeds and price. My internet is 20meg package but it depends on time of day in terms of actual throughput. Satellite is too expensive for my needs and I don't like to be forced into contracts for bad customer service.

So this blows... the device is great, and the Netflix app on it works great. But my wife tried out Amazon prime once in 2011 and didn't use it much, so she cancelled it earlier in the year. Now they say that they won't activate the free 1 month trial again in the same calendar year.. :pissed: I think I am going to wait until January and then activate the trial membership. For now, I am stuck with netflix on the Fire.

But the tablet is pretty nice.. very fast.

Amazon Fire is pretty good so far. Amazon prime is good as well - still haven't decided on whether to keep it past the 1 month free period or not... having Netflix on the iPhone is a nice feature especially when out and about and not in wifi range. But as far as the hardware is concerned, the Fire delivers. Very fast, nice browser, good form factor, etc. for pure reading, I would still prefer the standard Kindle because the B/W e-ink screen on the standard Kindle is really good, but for general purpose browsing, etc. the Fire is great. Plus, the integration with Amazon website is seamless.

Overall, pretty satisfied!
