last thing the Kimber is suposdly from the custom shop but only semi custom. would that make any difference in quality for them?

From everything I have been told by 1911 owners, wait and buy the better gun. Ed Brown etc. I wanted a kimber, but my reasearch on the net turned me off. Most don't even like the mags that are sold with the gun, have to buy new mags, polish feed ramp, and other bullshit to make it consistantly reliable.

Save your money and get a premium 1911, that is my advice to you and to myself.
