I agree. We will rescue a boxer next time.

Of course someone might need to rescue mine so I don't kill him. Bastard tore up our hardwood floor and it's only been finished for a week. This dog in 4 years has cost us over $7k; between his purchase, medical bills and replacing the carpet. Now he's fkn up the wood!

^ yeah, I wish I would have research hardwood floors better before we put them in our house. Our house is 3 years old and our hardwood floors look like they are 30. They are torn up from our boxers nails.

We researched them enough to know that they were going to get some damage. That is why we went with a handscraped hardwood; it looks distressed. It's actually really hard to damage. I hurt my hand trying to intentionally damage a scrap piece with a car key. However, Duke stood on his hind legs and tried to launch for a toy and when he slipped he dug deep for traction. I gained a new perspective on how hard his nails and powerful his legs are. Day to walking and playing doesn't effect it.

Bad dog owner? Fuck you boy!

A bad dog owner would have abandoned him long ago. Instead I paid nearly 3k taking him to specialists to get his skin condition resolved. We spent another 3500 replacing the carpet that his oily skin stunk up.

As far as obedience he is perfect. Almost everything I verbally command him to do I can do with silent hand signals as well. Never did a bad thing since we owned him. The floor was an accident when we were playing.

Maybe we have been lucky, my boy lives to please us.

That is the breed. They will do anything to please their master.

Cassius, my boxer we rescued, tore up our carpet with separation anxiety and lack of exercise.

Now six months later, he is well behaved, exercised, crated, and lives to please us. Great dog.
