Just checke eBay and 3GS goes anywhere from 100 bucks to $280. It all depends on the condition of the phone and if it is jail broken or not.

Yeah it's crazy. My buddy sold a jailbroken 3gs for $100 with a completey shattered face and dented case from being in his pocket when he wrecked his motorcycle.
