$199 to $299. The One X is a great phone, but it will soon lose the crown.

    • Yeah, it's the $99 price tag that has me thinking. I'll may have passed if the price was $199. There's always another phone around the corner that is likely to be better though.,

True. If I had an upgrade available, then I would be playing on the HTC right now. I am not due up until Oct, so I must wait.

Still liking my lumia 900, but I do miss my BB keyboard, and would love to have a One X.

Agreed. Wont be anything drastic though, just slightly quicker specs.

Thing is though, the one x is so fast already it does everything instantly. So at some point the "specs" are just a number on paper because you cant notice the thousandth of a second difference in how it opens an app etc..

Remember google voice is your friend. Also try the swipe feature on keyboard.

              • OK... why the hell do I need Google Voice again? I got most things working yesterday. Haven't checked voice mail though.. is that what was bugging you about the phone as-is?

Just a few minor annoyances so far, most probably because I am not familiar with Android...

                1. The HTC Sync Manager isn't as good as iTunes. No way to sync podcasts. I have downloaded a podcast specific app, which may end up being a blessing in disguise, since the app can download the podcasts directly to the phone and I don't need to sync.

                2. I am already missing the volume control and double-click-to-skip-track features of the iphone earphones. Need something like that - I read there's an app that will do the same thing with the on/off button, need to look into it.

Other than that, phone rocks...

google voice is the voice mail. yea, works much better then stupid thing that comes with it.

as far as HTC sync manager. BRO I TOLD YOU, do not use the HTC CRAP. USE GOOGLE PLAY!!

remember google makes anadroid. google stuff works flawlessly on android. you are trying to use the junky phone software crap installed over top of anadroid. huge mistake.

                  • I need to spend some time configuring Google Voice.

And yes, I am using google play for music and stuff, but it doesn't sync with my outlook. Need something else for that.

                    • You don't need google voice, I don't even like it at all. Other people swear by it.

Go contact sync. Look it up

So you dial a number to listen to your voicemail like 1997?

                          • Yeah, I looked into Go contact sync yesterday. Problem is that I don't want my work contacts, appointments, etc. to show up in the Google cloud. It is against company policy. I'd much rather have an app that just syncs my phone and doesn't upload the information anywhere else. I think I'll stick to the HTC sync for now for my outlook stuff and use the Google Play for music.

On the positive side, I can sideload my personal Kindle format books directory into the right directory, just like I could on the Kindle. Much better than the iPhone situation where Apple does not provide subdirectory level acess to the file locations.
