Not just that, but the stereotyping is unreal. I personally do not have health insurance, and I can ensure you every one of my bills is paid. Will it suck if I need some type of surgery - absolutely. But I'm no lowlife in the meantime.

They idea that we don't take care of sick or hurt people in this country is rediculous. So you get a bill down the road. Chances are if you don't have health insurance you have fucked up credit anyway. Just don't pay the damn thing like your other bills.
This is absolutely true, which is why we need healthcare reform. Guess who ends up paying those bills? The govt/taxpayers. This is why the new healthcare law forces everyone to have some type of insurance. Obamacare is not universal healthcare, it's healthcare reform to stop some of the madness you just posted about.

What he's saying is true though, people still go in and get care and just throw the bill in the garbage and then it goes on their credit and nothing else happens. Then the taxpayers pay for it.

It's not that I took personal offense, I just think it's an unfair judgement.

And don't tell me to relax. I can post from the opposite side of the spectrum, thanks.

I get what you're saying, however, if someone goes in for major surgery and their stay costs $200k, they probably owe a good 20%. You think the average health insurance carrier is paying/affording $40k - probably not.

Absolutely. I just don't think you should ever make such blanket statements to a group of people you don't know. Almost like if I say "yeah chances are Bouncer gets food stamps because he's black"

This is the problem.... Right now say someone has surgery without insurance. They are left with a huge medical bill. If they don't pay, the hospital writes it off on taxes and receives a credit toward their tax bill. New plan... Individuals that can't afford health insurance are reimbursed via tax credits. I don't see how that is real different(as far as middle class tax payers are concerned).

But, seriously. Why don't you have health insurance? You can get a basic major medical plan for anywhere from $90-$300 per month depending on the deductible you choose. Would cover major surgeries etc, but not routine stuff.

juiced, with a $90 a month insurance plan the deductible would be the cost of the fucken major surgery. lol

Um, just is what it is at the moment.

$90 a month wouldn't get me an insurance plan worth a darn. I'd rather save the money and pay for what I need as I go (aside from major surgery).
