Yeah, slowly getting better at it. There's a lot of technical stuff to learn, but the camera is just a tool. At the end of the day, you have to have the eye for the shot. I am reading up on that but I have to practice more. Not sure if I will ever get any good at it, any more than I will be a painter even if I know how to use a brush.

I took these shots with couple of little desk lamps, some old xmass lights and a black table cloth hanging on the door. :D
Fairly slow shutter 1 / 125 with wide open aperture 1 / 8 and high iso 1600. It was pretty much pitch black when I took this.
Just a desk lamp. lol. And Same settings as the above picture.
Super slow 1 / 15 sec, f 5 / 6 and 1600 iso.
1 / 200 sec, f / 5, 1600 iso.

pics are good beast but i still feel they are missing that crisp clarity. like that santa pic at the end, that is the most clear shot there and i dont feel its much better then what you could take with your galaxy s3.
the lighting is cool in the noah pics and they do look good. but again they just dont have the clarity that makes me say damn.Comment

Let me try to explain this to you in simple terms so you can understand. Low iso clear pictures high iso noisy or grainy pictures. You'll get the clearest pictures with good light at 100-200 iso, and noisier pictures at low light 1600-3200 iso. Pictures were taken almost pitch black with minimum light and high iso therefore they will not be clear and crisp. You can play with it in photoshop but it'll never be perfect unless you took the shots in a perfect studio settings.Comment

take a pic as clear as scrums ducks pics. they look like they belong in a magazine. not trying to talk shit bro because your pics have good angles and colors etc.. just feel like none of them pop if that makes sense.Comment

ahh so scrum is using a $2000 dollar lens that you are not? i was thinking you guys had basically the same exact stuff to take the pics. that explains it.

Well his lens is more like $1500, I was kind of exaggerating. :D What I have is the kit lenses that came with the camera, which people in the photo industry call them garbage lol. We essentially have the same cameras but lens is the most important part of the process. Lol. Bouncer is sitting in his mom's basement and trying to act like he knows what he is talking about and hatin beautiful cali pics :rofl:
But tell you what though...I should've had my tripod with me since those shots were taken at longer shutter speeds. Especially the last picture. Shutter speed was @ 2 sec while aperture was set @ 22 and iso was @100 so I could get the soft ghostly water effect.
I had the camera placed on the railing while holding it at the same time so it wouldn't fall in the water. That's why they are a bit soft not noisy.Comment
