I remember it being played on NBC years ago, maybe a year after the movie came out and it was also shown uncut. I remembered a discussion of how high school kids should watch it, which I agree completely with.

When I visited Auschwitz in 2009, about 50% of the visitors were high school classes on field trips. I can't think of a better way to learn history, especially the ugly stuff.

Some of the picture links are not working for some reason - not sure why. I've got to go to my imageshack account to figure it out but several of them load up.

Thanks scrum, I was telling my wife about your pictures as we were watching the movie.

I noticed in the movie that they used Jewish tombstones to line the roadway entering the Plaszów camps. Do you know if this is historically accurate or just a dramatization for the movie?

Everything I have read is that yes, it is true that headstones from Jewish gravesites were used to pave the road. Whether this was just for convenience or whether Goeth was sending a message of absolute control and humiliation, I don't know.

Yeah it was really short they couldve made it much better but really interesting idea
