  • Morning lifters ?

    I'm starting up some low impact cardio in the AM

    Was curious how many of you guys train in the morning ? For me it's hard enough to make myself eat breakfast, i feel hella week so lifting would feel real foreign.

    Please note this is not for you guys out there doin 2 a days for precontest etc - just for general routines. And if you lift in the AM how the hell do you get up for it and train as hard as say mid day ???

    I have to commute 60 miles, so I get to the gym at 6 to avoid traffic. Takes me a week to get adjusted to the am schedule. Shake before I leave, preworkout drink when I get near gym.

      I used to hit the gym at 3 to 3:30am, because I had to be rolling to work by no later than 5. I liked the quiet, but I hated not being totally warmed up. I couldn't lift heavy without feeling very awkward doing it. So I concentrated on circuits.

      Anyway, I have a better mindset in the afternoon.

        Ya auri, I feel like I barely get a pump - I'll wake up 2 hours before I'm out the door (between 5:30 - 8:30 depending on the day) - and get some oatmeal and whey down, some arginine in my whey and some CEE. I try for 48oz of water first 2 hours Im up - no pump. If I'm on cycle this is obv not a problem.

        Turbo - I'll try it for longer than a few days, see what happens. thx for input fellas.

          I can do cardio in the morning but that's it. I used to go before work, but I was still always weaker than if I went in the afternoon/evening. The quiet is so nice, though!

                      I've been going before work recently and I have no problem lifting the weight. Just do a pre-workout drink on the way to the gym.

                      It's usually me, thIs 70 year old man (who's strong as hell!!) and about 10 hot chicks in there!

                      The energy I have during the day is way up and it feels good having the workout out of the way.
