Always easy to shoot the messenger, isn't it? It has nothing to do with how blacks voted, but rather how loony and on-the-fringe the GOP policies have become.

The GOP needs to their policies and stance on various things and why they can't shake off the notion that they stand for either rich white money in the Northeast or for redneck anti-immigrant racism in the south or for bible-thumping anti-women, anti-science beliefs. The GOP has a serious credibility problem with large voting blocs - minorities, professional women. It is a real problem that they have to grapple with because both these blocs are growing by the day.

The supreme irony of course is that 150 years ago, the Republicans stood for emancipation while the Democrats were the ones who stood for the segregationist status quo. What a sad transformation the party of Lincoln has had over those years. But of course Mr. I, I don't suppose the youtube birther videos have any of that historical perspective now, do they?
