    Yeah they're supposedly one of the most dangerous animals in the woods I've heard. We used to do a lot of portaging (hike thru the bush to other little lakes. Nobody on these lakes other than you. Even the main lake we stay at never has more than 10 boats on it and it's 17 miles long). But yeah, my dad and I were navigating our little 14 ft aluminum boat down a stream and we came around the corner and the moose was drinking out of it right in front of us. We were paddling since it was so shallow, so if he woulda charged we woulda been screwed.lol

      Did a lot of canoeing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota when I was in grad school at Illinois. Lots of portaging there too. I didn't have any close encounters with moose though, just saw some from a distance.
