  • Fitbands - who has one?

So I went to the Verizon store today and I almost bought one... but I wanted to find out if any of you have it? what do you use it for?....seems like there's so many of them out there.

I like the fact that you can track your sleeping patterns honestly, that's probably the most I use it for....maybe tracking my steps

I was going to ask the same thing myself. Though about getting the galaxy gear fit on black Friday when it was $99 but decided not to. I would want one with a heart rate monitor to make sure I'm getting in the right grove for cardio.
I just haven't decided if I want smart watch integration for messages and shit or not.

I also like the fact that some of them can monitor your sleeping patterns which I find kind of intriguing and the heart thing is pretty cool 2

Yeah. I may wait til they get some better battery life figured out. No use to check sleeping patterns if you have to charge it every night or every couple nights. I am keeping my eyes peeled though.

I have a FitBit that I got a killer deal on at Thanksgiving, but I haven't messed with it yet.

I got the FitBit Flex. I hear mixed reviews on ALL of these type devices, but since I got such a good deal, I really didn't care.

I've thought about getting one but frankly don't see the point, for me at least. I have a phone with a pedometer already. I don't trust its calorie counting. If I an running on a treadmill, it has a more accurate distance meter. If I was running outdoors, I can use mapmyrun to give me an accurate distance reading. And I already have a Polar HRM to record my heart rate.

I need to find one that can do my hear rate, my sleep pattern and if possible, monitor my BP. I also like that it'll measure your run and speed. Technology just keeps getting better and better. What's next ?

I don't use Verizon apps at all...I try to disable and shut down as many as I can.

I guess the thing which might get me to consider one is seamless BT integration with the phone and wireless integration with the computer so that all data can be downloaded and entered into apps like Excel. To me, that's worth the price, if I didn't have to deal with 3 or 4 devices that don't talk to each other and I have to enter stuff manually.

I believe that is the case. Maybe not Excel, but I know my sister just downloads her stuff to her phone, etc.

FB, what does she do with the data. Is there an app that goes with the band that graphs the data or puts it in tables or whatever?
