Have they improved in the last few years? They were shit for awhile I know but I hear good things now.

I had them for 7, possibly longer. Rememebr how I use to post my hatred for them....well it was their customer service. I have to say that their cellular service was fantastic...I couldn't stand calling their cust serv line, I would cringe it was that bad....THAT is the reason I left and have been with Verizon since 2008/09. I know you bro and I'd love to be the fly on the wall when you need to call their cust serv line :DOriginally posted by blm View PostDepends on the area I suppose. They still get rated at the bottom nationwide for their network and customer service. Only people I know that use them are typically those with tight budgets.
I know some of these sites are old, but I'm sure it's not as bad....who knows....they're super cheap and IMO, best bang for buck. Just can't deal with their cust serv idiots.

I've had Verizon since 2001 after a horrible 6 day experience with Sprint. Their service is great and customer service is good most of the time. My only complaint is their pricing. They just spent $10.4 billion on more wireless spectrum so naturally their prices will eventually rise because of this.
Sprint typically has better prices and offer outrageous buy out deals because they need to in order to get and/or keep customers.

I got out of sprint early two years ago because the service was unbearable. Indoors=3g which is way slower than all others 3g, but usually got nothing at all. I would typically get literally 56k download speeds in my basement. Shopping meant having to go outside for service in some places to check reviews before purchasing an item.
Sprint uses a high frequency bands which are great for distance but don't penetrate walls worth a fuck. I never had any issues with the customer service other than being told for a year that LTE was only a month out in our area which took another year after I left to start seeing. To me it was noticeable their lack of investing in their network/towers.
I had the same shit with T-Mobile. Verizon and ATT have the best networks but I had major issues with Verizon's shit phones, slow updates, nickel and diming perk plucking bullshit. I've seen they have improved over the last year now that T-Mobile has been doing good shit for their customers.
They all have their flaws but ATT has been the best all around for me.

Phone service seems just like cable service. No one is particularly happy with what they have, but also no great alternatives. It all feels way over priced and you don't ever feel like you can do anything about it when you are getting screwed over. Similar to airlines messing up and you just have to take it.
I switched from Verizon to AT&T a few months back. Mostly because of Verizon be unfriendly in store and on the phone. Add to that the nickel and diming they tend to do I had enough.
Now that I'm with AT&T I don't notice anything that different but I haven't had to deal with any issues yet. So I think unless there is a deal or discount worth having, or just don't want to give your business to someone, then changing doesn't make you any happier.
