Mist be quite a long commute for regular work but I guess your more the country type
One thing that's easy for me to forget is the sheer size of USA and the diversity within

Love the trees but hating on the leaves..Due to the place being empty for the last several years. the leaves are insane...this is the 3rd load Ive taken out this week..29 bags just on this load. got about 2/3 of the front yard done. The sides and back are gonna be killer...

Im thinking by mid summer Ill have the yard cleaned up just in time for Fall. but them it'll be just maintaining and not so bad..

Eventually Ill be getting one.. Problem is the leaves are in layers with the old spanish moss thats fallen out of the trees over the years making like a carpet and holding it all down. I have to use a heavy steel rake to basicly pull that up and pile it..then use a leaf rake to get the rest...its like doing twice the work just to get it up..Originally posted by Chadd77 View PostI have a bagger on my John Deere for the leaves. Saves me so much time. I mulch them into the bags then dump it in the woods. Before that I either had to blow or rake them.

Its very time consuming.. now that Im getting the "carpet" of old spanish moss up It seems to be good rich dirt under it. Im hoping I can get some good grass to grow in the shady conditions. Found some seed thats supposed to be good for shade. If I cant get that to go I may get railroad ties and box in around the trees..fill and then get some kinda ground cover to grow in it. Then as it grows out and fills in I can just eat it with a weed eater as it grows over the sides of the RR ties to keep in under control. Just an Idea Im thinking of.Originally posted by blm View PostTotally sucks. I have a few oak trees that drop tons of leaves and acorns. Back breaking work raking and bagging for hours. Looks nice though, lol.
