I heard berumda is better than the Caribbean. Shorter flight from NY? Not many resorts or all inclusive options, is that true?

Bermuda is my favorite Island in that it's much safer then the Caribbean. It's the type of island where you can leave your wallet on your beach chair and go in the ocean without worry of it being stolen. It's a rich and educated island.

That said, it's generally more expensive then the Caribbean and you can't go year round because it gets too cold and windy in the winter months.

Staying 4 days here in the Arenal Volcano NP area here... Nayara Hotel Spa and Gardens:

Costa Rica Arenal hotel | Nayara Hotels Arenal Volcano National Park

The casita we will be staying at:

We are then flying down to the Osa peninsula (think Jurassic Park) to spend 5 more days - haven't quite finalized the resort there.

Nice Scrum. Looks like a great vacation.

A mountain in your backyard a home, a volcano on vacation. Coincidence?

Haha.. I like mountains, I guess!

Truth be told, the Arenal NP was my wife's idea. She wants to hike up the volcano - you can get a local naturalist guide to come with you and show you everything. Looking forward to it...

OK.. finalized the Osa Peninsula resort as well. 5 nights in the El Remanso Resort... thought long and hard, comparing this one with Iguana Lodge that funniirishman stayed at, but this one seemed to have a better package for us.

Osa Peninsula Lodging, Costa Rica - Rainforest Wildlife Lodge | El Remanso Lodge

If I remember right you've never been to central/south america/ Caribbean right?

It will rain without a doubt but realize that it's different rain compared to what you are used to. The tropics have very brief downpours that can be as short as 5 minutes. so even if the sky's turn black it will be crystal clear skies within the hour most times.
