I think they sold their TV business a couple months ago to hineese or something. Profits were falling and one of those chineese buyers picked them up. At least I think it was Sharp.Originally posted by blm View PostSharp has one of the longest history's of customer satisfaction and record low returns; mine was dead out of the box and has had the screen replaced.
It happens. Samsung makes great TV's no question about it.

In regards to pic quality or streaming, yes the 4K looks better, period. You certainly do t have to be a tech guy to figure that out either.
I bet that I could set up two screens, one 1080p and one 4k. I doubt that you could tell me which one was 4k when sitting on a couch 8 ft away.
Especially if you were stoned....

:hug:Originally posted by blm View PostYou'd have to be visually impaired...This question depends on the source material.Originally posted by rado View PostYep. Doesn't take much to see the big difference.
if you have a 1080p tv and a 4k tv both displaying Fox HD which broadcasts in 720p then turbo would be correct, you would not be able to see any difference. it wouldn't matter if the tv was 12k resolution. if the source material is 720p that's all it can be, a high res tv cannot add information to the 720p single that isn't there.
if however the 4k tv is displaying actual 4k content then yes, the difference is very clear.
I would tend to side with turbo on this whole thing though. literally nothing you are getting from your cable or sat provider is 4k and it will be that way for the next few years at least. 4k content aside from a demo of some pretty scenery is few and far between.

This is the tv to buy. You will not find a better reviewed product for the money anywhere. Do not concern yourself with brands. Concern yourself only on quality without bias. Read the reviews from professionals to end users and make the best call based on feedback.

Or turbo if you decide to go 4k you can do so for only $200 more and be future proofed for years to come.

I would personally probably go with the 1080p. 4k is in it's infancy and 4k tv's that come out over the next few years will have superior refresh rates etc.. making current 4k sets seem a bit dated. With 1080p your getting a set at the top of it's game, all the kinks ironed out, a perfected technology if you will. Buying a 4k set in 5 years will be a no brainier, right now though 1080p has all the content, is cheaper, and is tried, tested, and true.

I'm going with the 60" version of the first link. Thanks for the recommendation.
I tried to talk myself into 4K, just no reason at the moment. I will just buy a 4K tv in 2-3 years and sell of give away the Vizio.

Amazon was out of the 60inch, had to use Bestbuy. Delivery is scheduled for Tuesday. I'm excited. Moving up from my 42" plasma.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostLet me know how the shipping goes with amazon. My current TV is about 7 years old so I'm sure I'll need one in the next few years, amazon is probably who I'll go with.
