They take the average herc. John the Hermit wouldn't be included because as you said, there is no data on him.

Dug into it. Methodology is telephone survey
      Rates and Rankings Methodology1
The analysis in State of Obesity compares data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS).
BRFSS is the largest ongoing telephone health survey in the world. It is a state-based system of health surveys established by CDC in 1984. BRFSS completes more than 400,000 adult interviews each year.

If it is a phone survey, then the reality is almost certainly worse than even what this survey indicates.

So they literally just call people and ask if they are fat or not? Wow, I guess I gave them too much credit. Herc, looks like you may be right here.

Imagine how fat America really is then!? How many people do you think say.. "nah I'm not overweight as they sit there with there 50 inch waist. lololol. Fuck I bet it's 50% fatty rate.

They take over 400,000 surveys a year...the US population is over 300 million...gives them a half ass ballpark figure but no way precise

Well I mean a survey is always just a sample of the population. But yea, the more and more I read about the methods used of acquiring the data the more I have to agree with Herc.

That said, I have a feeling it's not exactly wrong in terms of the fatty states. Those poor deep south religious areas are loaded to the gills with fatty after fatty.

My house phone rings 3-4 times a day from different numbers but I haven't answered my house phone in about 2 years. All it ever is is surveys, people trying to sell shit and people wanting donations. I might have gotten that call lol.

Yeah that's some crap. This is why I still have a house phone. Only friends and family get my cell number everything else gets the house number. Keeps the crap off my cell.
