It's truly sad that we as human beings need to always be on the defensive side of things. Can't let your guard down for a bit, you just never know my friend. :)

This thread pretty much summarizes the gun debate in our country.

I don't have any problem with guns. I'm just saying a kid in school with one might end up in trouble.

Then again I hear what rip is saying and I don't disagree.

Once again in the gun debate I'm conflicted.

I plan on taking my son to the range when he's of age and teaching him or having him get trained on how to properly use, difuse and attack with a weapon.

Rip, I can tell we have made you feel attacked and angered you a bit. Not what we are doing at all. Gun rights and protecting yourself with the gun isn't the focus of what we are saying.

yep..because they wanna be tough guys and think the gun does it for them..

Responsible gun owners generally never think that way and arent the problem..and you never know your sitting next to them at work..going by them in walmart,,or eating a steak and the next table in a steak house..

You can always tell who's a true gun owner(as in knows wtf they're doing with them, not just own guns for the sake of it)...

not angered..just tired of people saying leagle gun owners are wrong and the problem..its the people behind them...just like a drunk behind the wheel of a car...not the cars fault:agreed:

Hence why you have guns owners and then you have gun posers :) look at how many times you hear of idiots who have no business owning a gun get in trouble....on the other hand those who are typically well versed with them, well I don't hear about them on the news much.

What are your thoughts on all the irresponsible gun owners? The ones that give this whole gun debate the real fuel.

I have no problem at all with responsable gun owners. I'm sure there are millions who never cause a single problem. But you gotta admit brother, there are a shit ton of retards in this country giving guns a bad name.

I've yet to see the video, I'm just jumping in because of the gun debate. I'll watch it later though. I've always been an advocate for guns and having proper licensing and training. IMHO our country has some very light laws on owning a gun...pass a background, done.....put in your paperwork, done...pay your fees and get licensed, done...more hours of training should be done, every year or two should one person certify again, etc..when I moved to Boston, holy fuck was it easy getting my permit...

Never meant to imply that. I'm sorry.

I get the premise of shooting someone who tries to rape you. I agree with that.

What I'm saying however, is it isn't that simple when you think about what that scenario would look like outside of our heads. Even more so when it comes to being in college living a college life amongst peers.
