Don't use media created terms. The media is already stating that the shooters were in "assault style clothing". Just a scare tactic. Maybe we can outlaw black clothing, possible camo also.
I was also going to ask what "assault type clothing" was

Has drug control done anything?Originally posted by redback View PostQuestion. Do you guys think gun control would do NOTHING ?
Think about steroids. Maybe over in Australia you guys have a harder time getting them, but in America its easy as can be. Our black market is much bigger because we are a much bigger nation. You can't take your rules and apply them to us. Again, fire cracker vs a nuclear bomb.

OK, I'm not very familiar with guns, so maybe I got the term wrong. But is there a middle ground, where an automatic rifle with a large magazine that can kill a lot of people rapidly (whatever the technical term for such a rifle is), could be controlled in terms of availability to the general population?

So now we find out that this guy has been talking to terrorism suspects. Great.
From the CNN headline article:
"The communications were "soft connections" in that they weren't frequent, one law enforcement official said. It had been a few months since Farook's last back-and-forth with these people, who officials said were not considered high priority."
So we knew this guy was talking to known terrorism suspects, yet we didnt' do anything about it.
I can predict how this is going to go. The head of the FBI will have the gall to stand up and say that this is precisely we need to be able to do warrantless email monitoring and phone metadata collection for anyone. The kind of stuff that has been ruled unconstitutional. I can almost guarantee that the drumbeat to put this NSA program back into place will commence any day now.
Which is precisely the OPPOSITE of what we should be doing. You don't discover a needle in a haystack by making the haystack 10 times bigger!!!! They admit as much in the quote above. They had so much data to analyze that they didn't prioritize the calls that this guy made. Unbelievable.

Ok so you are worried about self protection? Do you think the mafia has put a hit out on you? I guess you can never be too sure right?Originally posted by lipripper View PostI'm concerned with my rights being taken away and my right to self protection of my family and well being.
why are you so concerned with what happens here..your rights have already been taken away.. You used to have them but no longer do. WHY???? because of PEOPLE who didn't follow the law...that is sad in my opnion.I don't want to be in that position.
Me concerned about what happens there? I'm not. We are having a debate on gun laws and I am contributing to the argument but I really don't care about Americans.
Also I don't consider my rights have been taken away. I'm not scared of someone breaking in and shooting me and if I want to shoot a firearm I can still legally do so if I choose.
I can understand if you are a gun fan or hunter. Gun laws in our country don't prevent this so maybe you don't fully understand gun restriction laws (at least in my country )
I also don't think gun control will totally wipe out your problems but I think it is the first step towards making some change. If you don't agree that is fine but at least come up with another solution.

I don't know anything about drug laws in your country but I doubt they are anything like we have over here. So you are basically saying drug control has done nothing at all!? Absolutely nothing? Really? If you are asking if drug control has done anything here then yes absolutely it has. Has it fixed the drug issue? Of course not but it has done ALOT.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostHas drug control done anything?

I would just like to know what you guys are actually proposing.

Don't waste your time. Nobody in this country will propose or do anything. Because we are just different and nothing, not a single thing that has been tried anywhere else in the world and found to reduce gun violence will work here. :retard:Originally posted by redback View Post

So we will continue to wring our hands and cry as we lurch from one gun incident to the next.
