  • Bought a Loft in Rhode Island

Will post pics when I get home. Super nice, good price and couldn't pass on it.

It's a small loft/studio, but the location, building, price was top good to pass up.

I'll get some pics up tonight.

How far do both if you have to drive to get to your workplaces? RI is within commuting distance of Boston, right?

I think everywhere you go in Rhode island has to be close to the coast. Lol. Place is tiny.

Why do I imagine some funny meme when reading this. Like the loft isn't really a loft or rhode island is more like some road leading to some abandoned island like mass.

It's an hour drive from Boston. I obviously plan on keeping my apartment here until lease is up. Then we will probably relocate there. The goal is to be in NYC within 2yrs, and things seem to be going along fine.

                Correct :agreed:

So it's a mill turned loft property type business. It's 700sq feet and the pricing was great. I put 20% down and my mortgage is too cheap:) I've never been down this road(other than my business)on buying something and just having it there, like a rental. I've always bought, lived and sold. Never liked having any attachments.

But as I get older and wiser, investing in some little property when funds are ok, isn't too shabby either. I like the layout, the decor, the way it's built, etc....took about 10 pics for now and will take more this weekend when we go there.

This will also help me expand even more with the business. Seems like every 3yrs or so, I move somewhere:grin:

I just feel like if you wanted to be in NYC you'd do it.

Personally I think you made the better choice. I don't see you living in the city. I'd rather have the loft in RI. City life has its perks but it's very stressful and it gets old very fast. I know NYC like the back of my hand. Its a great city but you dont wanna live there.

I'm having it painted this weekend. Working on appliances but not sure which ones I'll get. Once it's done, we will live in it for a bit. The move to NYC is what we want.

Bouncer, you can think you know me and what I truly like because of the years of posting or whatever stupid ass friendship we have. But to positively think that I'd hate the city and I'm making the wrong decision, is completely dumb bro.

I do plan on getting rid of our cars once we're there for a year at minimum. We both lease cars so turning them in or getting another one is not a problem. I've lived in a few cities and although I love having a car, it doesn't make or break me.

Being able to buy this loft and having a very small mortgage(not to mention, it's an investment), making me think twice about it was never a thought.

I have a little project now, not like I needed anymore but whatever lol. RI is also a very nice place to live and the food, the culture, the summers, etc...My son is already excited about coming over and if that makes my mini me happy, then :clapback:

So this building was a mill, now turned into lofts. The previous owners are going through some issues(believe it's divorce)and needed to sell ASAP.
