You've got to be kidding! The western industrial world is what put us in this position! India and China are certainly big polluters today and therefore need to be part of the solution, but they are not the reason why we are where we are!Originally posted by Bouncer View Postscrum, if china and india did not exist would we even be having this discussion? serious question, not being a smart ass. from what I understand those 2 countries make up like 90% of the problem.

I think international trade is "why" India and China have become dumping grounds and toxic and also polluters.Originally posted by Scrumhalf View PostYou've got to be kidding! India and China are doing what they believe is their right - to increase their industry to bring their people out of poverty. Unfortunately, that needs power and a lot of power is generated by coal powered plants. Also, as the middle class in these countries have more buying power, they buy cars, electrical appliances, etc., all of which increase power consumption and cause pollution due to emissions. Nothing the West has not done for the last 200 years. So, to say that India and China need to fix their pollution problem is only telling half the story.
And these countries are certainly doing their part to improve. Solar installations are expanding like crazy there, much much faster than here.

They are generally deprived shit holes though. The general populous in many parts don't really even understand sanitation and largely unregulated hence why so many waste dumpsOriginally posted by Scrumhalf View PostIndia and China are doing what they believe is their right - to increase their industry to bring their people out of poverty. Its not just china and india its everyone. All the stuff we use everyday contributes. The biggest emissions in western countries come from burning fossil fuels for electricity and heat. This is why the legislation in new building design is so important.

Think of the good side. We will soon have new beach vacation destinations. Palm trees in the Arctic coming soon.

The earth is not simply going through a "warming cycle". Sure, warming cycles do happen naturally but this isn't one. What we are seeing now is 100% caused by man. The facts are there and something like 97% of all scientists acknowledge this. I used to be a skeptic but I read up on it and watched air truth film and now I have a strong understanding of the subject. What we are seeing and what we are about to see is 100% caused by man and could be avoided if people would wake the fuck up.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostThing is, global warming isn't anything new. Humans talk about it as if it's the first of its kind. The earth goes through warming and cooling cycles. Dinosaurs lived on a warmer earth than we have today. Fast forward millions of years and we have the ice age which was obviously a much colder earth.
Not sure why people don't talk about this when they mention "global warming" as if it's something totally created by man and completely unnatural. If anything we may have sped up the process by some years but it would happen regardless.
This is simply the first time modern civilization has lived through a warming event. The earth will continue to go through cooling and warming cycles without regard to human presence. I think humans in general tend to imagine we are bigger than we actually are.
With that said, we could certainly do a much better job at taking care of our planet, cleaning up after ourselves, and becoming far more efficient with enrergy and waste.

We could all do our part and only drive electric vehicles. That right there would put a huge dent into it.
If I were to lock you into a room with no ventilation with a) a gasoline car at idle or b) and electric car at idle which would you choose?

Nah I think the world is in a natural warming event. It's just that humans have amplified that event and sped up the process. I don't deny global warming and the role humans play. I do however dispute when people say "this is 100% man made". I think it would be more accurate to say we've made an impact on a natural event.

They are just a rather low iq uncivilised race it seems. Many places and countries are poor but they understand and practice good hygiene.Originally posted by Tom Arnolde View PostI will never go to Deli again, people shitting on the streets, everything is so dirty, and you can drink only water from bottle with close cape.
A freind of mine wad getting paid a ton tax free project managing construction out there and stayed in a hotel room long term. He began to generally feel unwell and got sick.
One day he came back to his place early with bad stomach, he walked in as the cleaner was working and observed her clean out the shit pan by hand then wipe down the sink and surfaces with the same cloth!!
Just utter utter stupidity but that was apparently the norm

Bit harsh but it's hard to argue when you look at the continued state of that nation. After awhile the argument of government corruption loses steam. At some point you have to admit that all nations dealt with massive corruption at some point. The various revolutionary wars throughout history was all about changing that shit.Originally posted by Mr I View PostThey are just a rather low iq uncivilised race it seems. With that said, many of the Indians I have seen here in the US are very well spoken and educated. Not sure if that's just a case of India sending only it's best and brightest or what. I'd assume that only the rich Inidan famlies can afford to send children to US for education. The ones that stay simple remain poor and uneducated I guess.
